Children’s Medical Research Institute strives to improve the health of children through its support of research and education at the Oklahoma Health Center.
Children’s Medical Research Institute is the only organization in Oklahoma whose sole focus is the advancement of pediatric research and education. Since its inception in 1983, CMRI has raised and leveraged matching funds to create over $50 million to fund pediatric research and education programs including collaborative projects with the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and the Children’s Hospital at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Our current research and education focus areas include: infectious disease, cancer and blood disorders, cystic fibrosis and lung disease, genetic disorders, diabetes and endocrinology, developmental and behavioral pediatrics (ADHD, Autism), clinical child psychology, trauma and pediatric surgery, kidney disease, gastroenterology, pediatric training, ethics in pediatric medicine, and the care for critically-ill newborns and preemies.
Through the efforts of our volunteers and donors, we are able to finance significant research and education programs, recruit and retain nationally and internationally recognized physician-scientists to provide medical care of critically ill children, and train future pediatricians who will treat generations to come.
Children’s Medical Research Institute is located in the Presbyterian Health Foundation Research Park at the Oklahoma Health Center and is a proud affiliate of Children’s Miracle Network. |
